Play Day 2007 will once againwill bring attention to a child's need for active, free, messy and creative play. Don’t miss out on being part of the messy, mucky, magical adventure!
The first Play Day was held in 2005. It was an initiative of Dublin City Council by the Play Development Staff of Youth, Play & Sports Development Section of Housing and Residential Services. In 2006 six local authorities organised a event for National Playday in 2007 these six are joined by others from all over the country. What makes Play Day different from other children’s events is the concentration on active outdoor play rather than passive entertainment. The emphasis is on the games and activities that children can play outside, that cost very little, can take place anywhere and can be organised by them.

If there is no event in your area or you are unable to attend there are details of many activities and games that you can do at home in the street or your local park on this web-site.
